The Foot Troll

The Mainframe

Cabling       Description

The Main Frame Features a Robust Cabling System:

  • There are 2 input XLRs and 2 output chassis XLRs for audio volume control.
  • These inputs and outputs are for balanced or unbalanced use.
  • PIN 2 is hot.
  • The best S/N can be achieved via balanced lines.
  • Earth is connected to pin 1 on both input and output.
  • A solder bridge can be removed to “lift” the output pin 1 connection to earth, located inside the MAIN FRAME near the male 3 pin XLRs.
  • There are 2 chassis 4 pin XLRs for display connections.
  • Usual usage is one to be the BAR display, and the other to be either the NUMERIC or the GAS GAUGE types of displays. *SEE BELOW
  • Attach 4 pin cables provided as needed.
  • There is a 6 pin chassis XLR for the control foot pedal with a 6 pin male to female cable for connection from pedal to main frame.
  • ALL cables are pin to pin (1 to 1, 2 to 2, etc) and can be extended, as needed, however very long lengths may require recalibration of the displays.

*Please Note:

In theory, a Y cable can be utilized to have 3 displays on one system. Care must be taken that all connections are discrete and pin to pin. Re-calibration of the displays may be required. All other internal calibrations are sensitive and require an accurate multimeter and must follow an exact procedure. Contact Czech Electric for the procedure.
